Monday--Medical Exam/Shopping

Today our group took the children to their medical exams all children must have before they are issued their visas to come to the States.  We made it out but not without some tears.  New Hague requirements insist all children get 'caught up' on their shots before coming home.  So, we were forced to hold Moses down while they gave him 5 shots.  After that, Mommy and Moses both shed some tears.........    It could have been worse, he could have had more shots and/or a chest x-ray so we are thankful.  With all our children have been through, to add the trauma of shots seems wrong but we had to do it.

Later in the day, we went to do some shopping.  We didn't get much but had fun walking and people watching.  Our guide took us to McDonalds for dinner where we learned Moses doesn't like the golden arches.  Lucky for him, we don't go there often and if we did, he has brothers and sisters who would gladly eat his share.  :)  Thankfully, corn is on the menu and we ordered fried rice for him back at our hotel.

Thank you all for praying for us.  Moses seemed extra tired tonight (perhaps from the shots?) and went to sleep after completing our bedtime routine I started yesterday.  No tears!  Potty issues continue to plague and frustrate us.  He is determined to hold on to control of something and this and sleep seem to be what he has picked.  We continue to work on 'appropriate behaviors'.

Jena- yes, Elvin is married now.  He and his wife are trying to have a baby.  :)  The baby is in the 'imagination' as he put it.

  1. Poor baby! I just don't understand the shots - so frustrating. We will be praying specifically for "potty issues" and sleep. Hugs and God Bless,

  2. That Elvin is so funny. Please tell him Congratulation from the Beechers and hoping his imagination soon becomes reality full of the joys of parenting!

So Glad all is going well. YIKES about the shots. Poor Moses. I agree that's just not fair at all.

Adam had issues with going to sleep and regressed with potty training as well. I well remember the frustration. Hope he will settle in soon. I know you are looking forward to home and being in routine.

Blessings to you from all of us! Jena and Fam
